Electrostatic spraying preparation of Si/NiF<sub>2</sub>/PVDF energetic composites and their reaction characteristics

Abstract Metastable intermolecular composites are widely used in energy-demanding fields, where metal fluorides/fluoropolymers as oxidants have been a hot research topic recent years. In this study, Si/NiF 2 /PVDF ternary energetic were prepared by the electrostatic spraying method for first time, NiF functions oxidant. At same PVDF serves both oxidant and binder. The characteristics of samples studied through thermal analysis preliminary ignition combustion tests. It is found that generally form microspheres, which binds Si particles together. addition nanopowder can promote early decomposition , improve reactivity. Compared with physically mixed counterpart, exothermic reaction between microspheres starts at lower temperatures proceeds to more completion. electrostatically sprayed sample also shows shorter time intense luminescence phenomenon.
